MEET THE BOARD

Wendell and Kelly Verduin live in Poulsbo, Washington and are members of North Point Church.  While Kelly runs the family business, Wendell is (mostly) retired and now is busier than ever as President of Second Table Ministries.  This ministry fits their background and passion perfectly.  How better to couple anti-poverty program, community organization, and business administration experience with social workers' hearts and a Christian commitment to service.

"We were so blessed to witness both the critical need and the incredible opportunities in several extended trips across South Africa.  This has been a life-changing  experience - won't you join us?"

Reg and Dawn Branston live on Vashon Island, Washington and are members of Seattle First Christian Reformed Church.

"Having both retired by early 2003, we looked forward to  becoming involved in service activities and traveling.  Little did we know that a trip to South Africa in 2005 would change our lives forever!  With Christian hearts, we were significantly impacted by the huge numbers of people who live in abject poverty in sprawling settlements (shanty towns) virtually everywhere we went across this country.  Experiencing these sweet people who struggle every day just to survive touched us deeply and committed us to help them as best we can.  Following the vision of Wendell and Kelly Verduin, we are thrilled to be partners with them in Second Table Ministries."

Isaac Cameron currently attends Amherst College in Amherst, Massachusetts and will graduate in 2011 with a double major in Economics and Black Studies.  Upon graduation, Isaac expects to enter the financial market sector before ultimately attending law school.

"I had the opportunity to travel to South Africa in 2007.  The land, the people and the culture completely changed my life. To see people with so little material possessions thrive on fellowship and service to God, redefined my understanding of faith.  I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to the wonderful vision established by Second Table Ministries."
